Are reference letters required for membership in Kappa Alpha Theta?
No, Kappa Alpha Theta uses a Potential New Member Introduction Form, and it is not required.
Who is eligible to write a Potential New Member (PNM) Introduction Form and how do I submit one?
Any person is eligible to submit an introduction form, regardless of membership. Potential new members should choose someone whom they feel can speak to their character and values. That person can be a Theta, but it does not have to.
Anyone can fill out the online introduction form on the Kappa Alpha Theta website. The online form, upon submittal, will automatically be available to the chapter officers where the potential new member (PNM) is attending school.

An Important Note About Legacies
A legacy is defined as a daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, or sister of a Kappa Alpha Theta member. Kappa Alpha Theta has eliminated all preferential treatment previously given to legacies during the recruitment process. By eliminating preferential treatment for legacies, we ensure that PNMs are not receiving additional credit for things beyond their control.
